The Importance of Inclusive Language

Using inclusive language within the hospital setting can sometimes mean the difference between whether or not a person with disability feels respected and welcomed. The use of inclusive language also allows hospital staff to display signs and symbols of inclusion, which in turn helps to create a space of safety for patient's with disability where they can openly discuss their needs. These conversations not only allows for best practice but can often streamline the process for hospital workers and save time.
